Welcome to the RidgeRunners Morgan
Recently I participated in a local archery tournament. I’ve been shooting since I was in the 5th grade so this was no big deal. But, a few weeks before, I had shot a horrible score (for me). It was a 270, not bad for younger archers but for an experienced archer, this was a disappointing score. We hadn’t practiced in almost two weeks due to winter weather so I was a bit nervous about doing better than last time. I got on the line and shot. We have one practice round and three scoring rounds at both ten and fifteen meters. The practice round at ten meters was perfect, I got my aim spot very quickly and I felt very confident in my shot. The scoring rounds at ten meters were almost perfect, I got two perfect scores of fifty and I shot one nine. So I only lost one point at the ten meter round.
At fifteen meters I usually have a little trouble but overall they’re okay rounds. I didn’t shoot as well at fifteen as I did at ten but that was expected because of the distance. I shot two forty sevens and one forty eight. With a total score of 291.
It wasn’t a personal best, but I was very satisfied with this score. I didn’t expect it, but I ended up winning top overall female and first place in the high school girls division. I was very proud of myself, but what made me even more than gratified, was that my team placed first.
